Anxiety: What to do when you don’t know what to do

LISTEN TO HEATHER AND JAMIE TALK ABOUT ANXIETY, STRESS, AND WHAT’S REALLY GOING ON INSIDE.

For some of us anxiety is an every now and then feeling, triggered by the environment we’re in. But for others, anxiety is a crippling emotion controlling every aspect of our lives. Regardless of which side of the spectrum you’re on, the first step in finding peace is being honest with someone.

FINDING PEACE TAKES PRACTICE …

Often, we expect to read a truth, a self-help book, or social media post and be able to operate fully in what we’ve just read.  We’re shocked and disappointed when we don’t have the ability to do what we’ve read. But addressing issues like anxiety is like training for an athletic endeavor. You would never just read about a marathon and go out to run one. Of course, you’d be disappointed that you couldn’t do it. Issues like anxiety, stress, worry, and fear are the same way. Finding peace takes practice.

Challenge: When you feel anxious, stop and ask yourself, “Why?”

BE HONEST WITH SOMEONE ABOUT HOW YOU’RE FEELING…
